NORTH SHORE FALL BALL 2009

Registration is now open for the North Shore Girls Softball 2009 Fall Ball season. The season runs from early September through early November. Because of the commitment of fields to soccer in the fall, and because field availability for softball is scarce, doubleheaders are played on Sundays, typically at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. or at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m. Practices are also usually limited to once or twice a week.

This year North Shore hopes to be able to field teams in the 8U, 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions. Teams will be formed by the league based upon the number and skill level of the girls who register, and based upon the number of managers/coaches who volunteer. Once formed, teams will be assigned to the North County Winterball League, the San Dieguito Fall Ball League, or the Mira Mesa Fall Ball League, depending on their skill level. Depending on the league joined, games may be played at our North Shore home fields or at other fields located throughout Northern San Diego County, so families must be prepared to travel to the away fields on any given Sunday.

North Shore hopes to be able to place on a team every girl who registers. Parent volunteers are urgently needed, however, to manage and coach our Fall Ball teams. Without a sufficient number of managers/coaches, girls may have to be turned away. As you register your daughters for Fall Ball, therefore, please give every consideration to volunteering for these most important positions.

The cost for Fall Ball registration is $100.00 per player. This includes league fees, player jersey, socks and visor, umpire fees, and game balls. North Shore will also provide each team manager with an equipment bag. If your daughter did not play for North Shore in the spring 2009 season, please include an additional $10.00 to cover the fee to register her with the Amateur Softball Association of America, which is mandatory.

Once you have completed online registration, please mail your check for $100.00 per player ($110.00 if new to North Shore), payable to “North Shore Girls Softball”, to:
